I made this Granny Square Lap ghan while I was in California for one of my daughters for Chrismas 2008. I also made Lap ghans for my mom and dad. I posted photos to my View All Designs Album.

Black and Pink Afghan Delight

I've been working on an afghan for one of my daughters. I am trying to surprise my daughter for her birthday which is the end of October, I told her it was her Christmas present. It is my own design and the colors are
black and pink. The pattern is just a little different than most
afghans out there. Along with the flower pattern I am making solid
squares. My daughter saw how I was designing the afghan and she really
loves how it is coming out. The colors match her comforter she has on
her bed except I am not using white that she has on her comforter. It
is taking me a little time since I am trying to update my site and
refreshed it plus help my daughter with my grandchildren. I also am
teaching my youngest grandson his ABC's and his numbers since he will
start Kindergarten next year. I attach a photo of what the squares look like. I have still need to finish crocheting the edge around the squares before I can attach the squares together.
My Designs

I have always loved doing crafts. I
first started crocheting when I was
around 8 yrs old. My mother was the one who taught me how to crochet. With the Lord's help I started to create my own designs.
I started making my first poncho for my granddaughter when they became popular again. I designed others for the ladies
at my previous job. I was selling my ponchos left and right. I came up with different styles, I couldn't make them
fast enough. I've design my own purses. I came up with several different designs they also have been selling like hot cakes.

I was in Yuma Arizona recently on my way back from California, I saw that there was a Jo Ann's Craft store at a mall they had off the 8 Freeway. I told my hubby that I wanted to stop there so we did. I really liked the wide selection of yarn that the store carried. I couldn't resist purchasing one of the crochet books they had. It kind of reminded me of A.C. Moore that they have out here in Charleston SC. Once I get rested from the long trip I'm going to started designing again. Can you believe I haven't even unpacket my lugage yet. I 've been busy repacking my Blue Willow and other things I brought back from California that I've collected for years. I also threw out some things that were out dated. I love pics of boats, ships and lighthouses. I collected a few pics of ea and brought them back with me also. I hung up the pics, re did my living room added a new lamp. Now my home feels like a part of me once again.
